According to its cause of formation, it can be divided into three types: wave ripple mark, flow ripple mark and wind ripple mark. Different types of ripple marks can cuase different types of bedding. Ripple mark is a typical sedimentary structure which can be an important symbol to analyze sedimentary environment.
